State of the Advice Nation is the UK’s best insight into the advice profession, combining business and sentiment data.

WHAT IS SOTAN?

Now in wave 7, State of the Advice Nation (SOTAN) is the UK’s best insight into the advice profession. It is a mandatory read for any business that wants to understand the advice profession, the challenges it faces and how best to engage with it.  

In SOTAN you’ll get insight into: 

  • How firms are feeling. What kind of year has 2024 been for them? How do they feel about the current wave of regulation. What are their biggest challenges? 
  • Role-specific insight. What keeps business owners up at night? How do paraplanners define what they bring to the sector? How do new entrants to the profession feel?

The research found that over the last 12 months, 88% of advisers needed to apologise to at least one of their clients on behalf of a platform, and that poor service delivery from platforms impacts 91% of advisers every day.
