Sean McKinven’s Newsround: 1 Aug

Hello. Here is our inaugural lang cat Newsround – a newsletter of the stories from the trades and elsewhere that peaked our interests though the week, with the usual smatterings of tongue-in-cheek and accessible erudition folk have come to expect from us.

By way of a disclaimer, while this may include articles that mention us and PR clients, generally stories are selected based on them being of interest within the trade and general news items we think are relevant.

It is to aid reading around, give an idea of the what’s going on in the financial services world and help promote discussion and journalism in the sector.

Hope you enjoy, here’s this week’s stories:

Andrew Tully: IHT reform brings more frustration than fairness | Money Marketing

If Nucleus’ technical services director Andrew Tully were to meet US political philosopher John Rawls at a imaginary dinner party it would probable end in a terrible argument. Rawls famously saw inherited wealth as unjust because he felt the inheritor didn’t earn the wealth. Andrew Tully might counter that still doesn’t justify IHT being overly convoluted and how does two counts of unfairness make justice. Eventually it ends up in a food fight (in my imagination anyway).
