INVESTING & WEALTH MANAGERS

Weekend Essay: Casino thrills vs financial reality

Interesting look at the tension of trying getting people to engage with money management without working in problematic features. I would certainly be wary of a move towards more gamification. It is true gambling is about the dopamine, but that does not just pertain to the winning – the losers get notable dopamine rushes as well, in spite of consistent losses. I think it’s right to think about how the process can be more engaging in a way that affirms good habits. Yet rooting the engagement too much in the emotional side certainly has the ability to cause issues.

Answering the Call

Service means a lot of things to a lot of different people. It’s so subjective it can be hard to put your finger on. This paper aims to challenge the status quo and inertia that’s built up in the sector for many years.
