The Top Class Wednesday Update is ready for you now

So here we are, siblings. Happy New Year to all; there didn’t seem much point in doing an Update last week as most of you were still off and there’s only so much you can read about the lack of Hogmanay parties before you end up even more depressed than you were before. (Insert Deity […]

THE TOP CLASS WEDNESDAY UPDATE CAN BOOGIE

It is a truth universally acknowledged that I know exactly nothing about foopball; it’s the wrong shaped ball for this particular egg-chaser. Being Scottish, this is normally not an issue when major tournaments roll around, but this year is different. First, we seem inexplicably to have made it through to whatever this stage of the […]

THE TOP CLASS WEDNESDAY UPDATE IS NOTHING IF NOT PREDICTABLE

Some people just don’t want to go messing about with irony. After the excitement of James Hay’s announcement that it plans to assimilate Nucleus, I popped onto the Twitter and hilariously asked if anyone had any thoughts on what I might cover this week. Well, I got lots of nice suggestions and now I feel […]

THE TOP CLASS WEDNESDAY UPDATE WINS EVERYTHING BY A LOT

After a monumentally rubbish eight months, the occasional shaft of sunlight pierces the clouds – a U-turn on whether it’s OK to let kids go hungry, the potential for a vaccine that works, and the really big one…genuine, laugh-out-loud comedy from the American politico-judicial process. If it wasn’t for the import taxes I’d be buying […]

OMG, OMW! WHEN REPLATFORMING ATTACKS.

One of the running sores of the platform industry, for a long time, has been replatforming. I’ve been fond of saying for a while that ‘there […]

Aviva and FNZ up a tree, R-E-PLAT-FORM-I-N-G

Just a quick few thoughts on the news from Aviva today that it plans to migrate its platform from Bravura to FNZ. For those not intimately involved, Bravura and FNZ, along with GBST (disclosure: GBST is a client of ours) are the three big beasts of outsourced platform technology in the advised space. IFDS is […]

The Impact of Poor Service

We provided the research for a report, in conjunction with Parmenion, which reveals how far short of expectations many adviser platforms are falling. The research found that over the last 12 months, 88% of advisers needed to apologise to at least one of their clients on behalf of a platform, and that poor service delivery from platforms impacts 91% of advisers every day.

Answering the Call

Service means a lot of things to a lot of different people. It’s so subjective it can be hard to put your finger on. This paper aims to challenge the status quo and inertia that’s built up in the sector for many years.
